A4i Secures Multi Year Contract with Riverside County in California.

TORONTO, November 3rd, 2025 – A4i, (App4Independence) an innovative digital platform to support people with complex behavioral health needs, has secured a landmark multi-year contract with the County of Riverside, California. Building on a successful two-year pilot, this partnership expands the adoption of the A4i across clinics within the county, enabling increased capacity for peer specialists and consumers living with severe mental illnesses.

Founded in 2018 as a spin-off from the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Canada’s leading mental health and addiction research hospital, A4i was co-created with MEMOTEXT Corp. to empower recovery journeys for individuals facing challenges such as psychosis-related illness and opioid use disorders “This partnership represents a shared commitment and a success story in patient-centered innovation in digital behavioral health,” said Amos Adler, Co-Founder of A4i and CEO of MEMOTEXT. “We’re setting a new standard for scalable, effective mental health support in California.”

Initially funded by Help@Hand California Statewide Collaborative of Digital Solutions, the pilot program launched in 2021 brought A4i to a targeted patient cohort while integrating the platform into the daily workflows of behavioral health teams, including clinical therapists and certified peer specialists. These teams used A4i’s clinical portal to personalize care plans and enhance early detection of relapse risks, fostering more responsive and proactive care. “Through A4i, we were able to shift how we support our consumers, making meaningful strides in engagement and relapse prevention,” commented Shannon McCleerey-Hooper, Deputy Director of Peer Support Services at RUHS-BH.

The pilot’s outcomes were significant: A4i delivered a 2.5:1 return on investment, achieved a double-digit percentage reduction in hospital readmissions, and optimized billing workflows tied to peer support and clinical services. “A4i not only streamlined our processes but also proved to be a valuable tool in driving sustainable outcomes for both patients and our healthcare providers,” said Maria Martha Moreno, Mental Health Services Program Manager for RUHS-BH.

This multi-year contract marks a pivotal moment in A4i’s commercialization journey and expansion into the U.S. market. “This partnership with Riverside University Health System underscores the critical role of co-designing technology with patients and clinicians for impactful, patient-centered care,” noted Dr. Sean Kidd, Division Chief of Psychology at CAMH and Chief Scientific Officer/Co-Founder of A4i. With Riverside University Health System’s commitment to scaling A4i county-wide, this partnership solidifies its impact and paves the way for further innovations in digital behavioral health care.
